Our History
In 1965, Jay Isenberg, at the age when most men retire, had the vision and fortitude to start a specialty food company with the support and encouragement of his beloved wife Dorothy. They started out of a small garage in Sharon, Massachusetts. Along with their son David, they worked tirelessly to build an enduring family business committed to honesty, hard work, and an unending dedication to both valued customers and loyal employees.

60 years later, the business has grown immensely and is poised for the next phase of growth. With the third generation of Isenbergs now leading, Chex Finer Foods joined with Paine Schwartz Partners to bring the infrastructure, investments, and technology needed to become the leading super-regional specialty distributor.
While much has changed, the partnership approach to our business, both with our suppliers and customers, remains intact.
