Chuck Freeman, Chief Operating Officer
Please share a little about your professional background before coming to Chex
Before joining Chex, I spent more than 25 years in leadership roles across the food and beverage distribution industry, building deep experience in operations, sales, and supply chain management. Most recently, I served as Chief Operating Officer at Clare Holdings, where I led a multi-brand portfolio spanning the Caribbean and oversaw complex, multi-site operations serving over 28 islands. Prior to that, I spent over 2 decades with Performance Foodservice in many roles, from VP of Operations to VP of Sales. Across my career, I’ve focused on driving operational excellence, building strong teams, and creating scalable systems that support long-term growth.
What is your favorite part about working for Chex?
My favorite part about working at Chex is the family atmosphere. I came here because I was looking to get back to an environment that feels close-knit and personal, and Chex truly delivers on that. There’s a genuine sense of pride, teamwork, and care for one another across the organization, which makes it a place where people are deeply committed and invested in the company’s success.
What's one of the biggest lessons you've learned while working at Chex?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned at Chex is just how powerful culture can be when it’s truly embedded in an organization. The level of commitment, pride, and accountability across the team reinforces that strong relationships and a shared sense of purpose drives performance as much as any process or system.
What is your favorite product Chex carries?
Mi Niña White Corn Tortilla Chips
What is one professional achievement you are most proud of?
One professional achievement I’m most proud of is helping scale a business from approximately $200 million in revenue to over $700 million, while delivering consistent EBITDA growth over multiple years. That growth wasn’t just about top-line expansion; it required building the right team, expanding infrastructure, and putting disciplined operational processes in place to sustain performance at scale. I am excited to apply that experience to the growth Chex is experiencing.
Share a fun fact!
A fun fact about me is that both of my sons play college baseball! My son Cameron is a junior pitcher at Longwood University, and my son Drew is a freshman catcher at University of Louisville. My wife Tiffany and I spend most of our free time following their seasons and traveling to watch them play.
